We Finally Leave for Ukraine!

We can't believe the day is finally here! This is the last step of a 12-year journey and 15-month process. Don't know if you all listen to Rascal Flats, but our theme song for this entire journey has been "The Day Before You." The best line says, "If you're the reason for all that I've been through, then I'm thankful for the day before you." That's exactly how we feel ... although the road's been a difficult at times, we know that God has orchestrated every step and that everything has been leading up to this child at this moment. We're amazed at how amazing He is.

Our first layover is in Chicago and there's a big snow storm in the upper mid-West. But as we were watching the forecast this morning, we can already see God clearing our path. They were forecasting 10 inches of snow in Chicago, but God graciously pushed the storm North and East and now they only project a couple inches. The forecast in Dusseldorf and Kiev cleared up too. Awesome!

Mom and Dad S drove us down to the airport this morning and had breakfast with us. Our flight leaves this morning at 10:30. Please be praying for two things: good weather and favor at Ukrainian customs. We have to carry a lot of cash and, of course, we have a lot of items for the orphanage.

You all have been there for us every step of the way. We can't tell you how blessed we feel to have such wonderful friends and family. We love you all and appreciate all of the notes of encouragement you have sent. Can't wait to send you some pictures!

Love ya!
